Jazz and Design collection

A collaboration with the Department of Product and System Design Engineering of the University of the Aegean (Syros)

On the ocassion of the 8th Syros Jazz Festival and with the purpose to expand creativity and discover new forms of expression between music and design, the first year students of the University of the Aegean (Department of Product and System Design Engineering), were invited to design artworks inspired by jazz music.

Under the guidance of their teachers Florentia Ikonomidou and Elsa Charalampous the students created trully unique artworks, combining a sense of history and a taste of modernism with their personal imagination and characteristics as well. Their work was exhibited during the Syros Jazz Festival in printed form in Plastico Cafe, at Hermoupolis in their original format and through a projector at the Chroussa open venue at which the concerts were held.

Μια συνεργασία με το Τμήμα Σχεδίασης Προϊόντων και Συστημάτων του Πανεπιστημίου Αιγαίου (Σύρος) 

Με την ευκαιρία του 8ου Φεστιβάλ Τζαζ Σύρου και με στόχο να επεκτείνουν τη δημιουργικότητά τους και να βρουν νέους τρόπους έκφρασης συνδυάζοντας τη μουσική και το ντιζάιν, οι πρωτοετείς φοιτητές του Τμήματος Σχεδίασης Προϊόντων και Συστημάτων στο Πανεπιστήμιο Αιγαίου, κλήθηκαν να σχεδιάσουν έργα αντλώντας έμπνευση από την τζαζ.

Με την καθοδήγηση των καθηγητριών τους Φλωρεντίας Οικονομίδου και Έλσας Χαραλάμπους, οι φοιτητές δημιούργησαν πραγματικά πρωτότυπα έργα, που πάντρευαν την ιστορία με μια σύγχρονη αισθητική μέσα από τη φαντασία και την προσωπική τους οπτική.

Η δουλειά τους εκτέθηκε σε φυσική μορφή στο Καφέ Plastico, στο κέντρο της Ερμούπολης. Επίσης όλα τα έργα προβλήθηκαν με προτζέκτορα κατά τη διάρκεια των συναυλιών που έγιναν στον ανοιχτό χώρο εκδηλώσεων του Πολιτιστικού Συλλόγου Χρούσσων.
