Short Biography
Charis Kapetanakis was born in 1970 in Thessaloniki. He studied saxophone and music theory. Since 1991 he is very active in music, participating in various groups and playing as a session musician in many projects.
He is a founding member of the groups: Hardgroove Quartet, Nasa Funk, Aroma Caribe latin Jazz orchestra, Jazz Frequency Quintet along with he plays in concerts, in Greece and abroad, apart from working together in discography.
He has collaborated with many acclaimed musicians such as Aleksandar Jaćimović, Ray Vega, Roberto Pla, Herman Oliviera, Chico Freeman and others. Futhermore, he has composed music for five short films. Since 2001 he teaches saxophone and music theory in Synodeio Conservatory of Thessaloniki.
In 2020 Charis Kapetanakis released his first album "Blue Roads".

O Χάρης Καπετανάκης γεννήθηκε to 1970 στη Θεσσαλονίκη, όπου σπούδασε σαξόφωνο και μουσικά θεωρητικά. Από το 1991 ασχολείται ενεργά με τη μουσική, συμμετέχοντας σε διάφορα σχήματα συγκροτήματα αλλά και αλλά και ως session μουσικός σε διάφορα projects.
Είναι ιδρυτικό μέλος των συγκροτημάτων:Hardgroove Quartet, Nasa Funk, Aroma Caribe latin Jazz orchestra, Jazz Frequency Quintet, με τα οποία, πέρα της δισκογραφικής δουλειάς, πραγματοποιεί συναυλίες στην Ελλάδα και το εξωτερικό.
O Χάρης Καπετανάκης έχει συνεργαστεί με πολλούς μουσικούς, όπως οι Aleksandar Jaćimović, Ray Vega, Roberto Pla, Herman Oliviera, Chico Freeman κ.ά. Επίσης, έχει συνθέσει μουσική για πέντε ταινίες μικρού μήκους. Από το 2001 διδάσκει σαξόφωνο και μουσικά θεωρητικά στο Σύγχρονο Ωδείο Θεσσαλονίκης ("Συνόδειο").
