Short Biography
Mitropoulos Konstantinos was born in Athens in 1969. At the age of 14 he started playing the guitar as a self-taught and soon rehearsals and various bands became part of his life. By the age of 19 he started playing at Athens clubs (Rodon, An Club, etc.). Then he studied electric guitar with Costas Baltazanis, jazz, theory and improvisation with Markos Alexiou and arranging with Takis Paterelis, at the modern music department og Filippos Nakas Conservatory and he graduated receiving a scholarship. He was also a member of the Big Band led by Dimitris Vassilakis, with which they presented the theatrical "The story of jazz", performing it in venues such as the Athens Concert Hall. In 1996 with a Berklee College of Music scholarship he went to Boston to attend the summer performance program and with a second one (awarded by Fender) he attended seminars by remarkable guiarists, such as John Petrutsi (Dream Theater) and Mark Whitfield.
Returning to Greece, he started performing and recording as a session musician, with Greek and international artists. As a member of the group D.N.A., he composes music for theatre, films, TV and spots.
From 2003 to 2009 he taught electric guitar at the Filippos Nakas Conservatory and at music school ΜΟΜi in Pireaus.
He is a founding member of the band Gadjo Dilo, with which he has released 2 CDs, some digital recordings and has performed in Greece and abroad. He is also the leader of the project "Djangotropia", a manouche trio, inspired by his favorite guitar player, Django Reinhardt. He is a member of Interchange Jazz Trio.
His first personal album entitled “Enatenisi”, arranged and produced by him, includes his own compositions.
Returning to Greece, he started performing and recording as a session musician, with Greek and international artists. As a member of the group D.N.A., he composes music for theatre, films, TV and spots.

Ο Κωνσταντίνος Μητρόπουλος γεννήθηκε στην Αθήνα το 1969. Στα 14 ξεκίνησε να παίζει κιθάρα ως αυτοδίδακτος και πολύ γρήγορα οι πρόβες και τα group έγιναν μέρος της ζωής του. Γύρω στα 19 έπαιζε στα clubs της Αθήνας (Ρόδον, Αν Club κ.ά). Στη συνέχεια ξεκίνησε μαθήματα ηλεκτρική κιθάρας με τον Κώστα Μπαλταζάνη, τζαζ, αρμονία και αυτοσχεδιασμό με τον Μάρκο Αλεξίου και ενορχήστρωση με τον Τάκη Πατερέλη στο μοντέρνο τμήμα του Ωδείου Φίλιππος Νάκας, το οποίο ολοκλήρωσε με υποτροφία. Παράλληλα ήταν μέλος της Big Band ορχήστρας με μαέστρο τον Δημήτρη Βασιλάκη, με την οποία παρουσίασαν την παράσταση "Η ιστορία της jazz", μεταξύ άλλων και στο Μέγαρο Μουσικής Αθηνών. Το 1996 με υποτροφία από το Berklee College of Music πήγε στη Βοστόνη και παρακολοώθησε το summer performance program και με δεύτερη υποτροφία από την εταιρία μουσικών οργάνων Fender παρακολούθησε σεμινάρια από σπουδαίους κιθαρίστες όπως John Petrutsi (Dream Theater) και Mark Whitfield.
Επιστρέφοντας στην Ελλάδα ξεκίνησε, σαν session μουσικός, συνεργασία με 'Ελληνες και ξένους καλλιτέχνες δισκογραφικά και συναυλιακά. Ως συνθέτης και μέλος της ομάδας D.N.A., γράφει μουσική για θέατρο, κινηματογράφο, τηλεόραση και σποτ.
Από το 2003 ως το 2009 δίδαξε ηλεκτρική κιθάρα στο μοντέρνο τμήμα του Ωδείου Φ. Νάκας και μέχρι τα τέλη του 2012, στη μουσική σχολή ΜΟΜi στο Πειραιά.
