Short Biography
Tsolis Sotiris was born in 1995 in Thessaloniki. His engagement in music and specifically in playing the drums, started from a very young age, in Larissa.
In 2014 he moved to England in order to master his playing in drums. He lived in London and then in Leeds. In 2016 he moved back to Greece and settled to Athens, where he became immediately an active member of the city's jazz scene.
He is member of the Ergo Collective and of the ethnic jazz trio of the oudist Thomas Meleteas, with whom he recorded the album "Nestinari" in 2017.
He has toured around Greece and Europe and he has participated as a sideman in many recording in Greece and abroad. Since 2019 he lives and works in New York, where he currently finishes his studies in Jazz Performance at the New School.

Ο Σωτήρης Τσόλης γεννήθηκε το 1995 στην Θεσσαλονίκη. Η ενασχόληση του με την μουσική και συγκεκριμένα τα τύμπανα ξεκίνησε σε νεαρή ηλικία στη Λάρισα.
Το 2014 εγκαταστάθηκε στην Αγγλία για να αφοσιωθεί στα τύμπανα, αρχικά στο Λονδίνο και έπειτα στο Λιντς. Το 2016 επέστρεψε στην Αθήνα, όπου έγινε άμεσα ενεργό μέλος της τζαζ σκηνής.
Είναι μέλος της Ergo Collective, καθώς και του ethnic jazz τρίο του ουτίστα Θωμά Μελετέα, με το οποίο ηχογράφησαν το 2017 το άλμπουμ "Nestinari".
Έχει περιοδεύσει στην Ελλάδα και την Ευρώπη και έχει συμμετάσχει σε ηχογραφήσεις στην Ελλάδα και το εξωτερικό. Από το 2019 ζει και εργάζεται στη Νέα Υόρκη, καθώς ολοκληρώνει τις σπουδές του πάνω στο Jazz Performance στο New School.
