Short Biography
Dimitris "James" Basdanis was born in Volos in 1988.
He studied Mathematics in the University of Ioannina and has been taught theory of classical music and electric guitar by Stathis Chouliaris and has attended many seminars.
Since 2017 he has been teaching electric guitar, acoustic guitar, improvisation and live group workshops in the Modern Department of Music School "Konstantinos Leontaris" (KLMS) in Ioannina.
He is the author of the books "Modes for Guitarists", "Learn and Master Pentatonic Scales" and “Anatolian Modes”.
In 2019 he was the winner of the Aplaud "Jazz Fusion" Contest 2019 ("James Basdanis 'Anatolian Trio' - Nihavent Sirto").
He is a founding member of the bands jacArt, Stichovoli and Programmed to Rock (PTR), as well as a member of various other bands.
His debut album as a leader “Kaemos” was released in 2019.
