Dimitris Tsekouras was born in Athens in 1985. He grew up in an artistic environment, since his father is a pianist and his mother a contemporary dance teacher. He received piano and violin lessons and started playing bass, drums and guitar.
He studied classical double bass at the Athens Conservatory with Tassos Kazaglis and photography at the TEI of Athens.
He has participated in many concerts and recordings in Greece and abroad. He has collaborated with artists such as Nikos Xydakis, Eleftheria Arvanitaki, Vasilis Rakopoulos and many more.
He is a member of the Encardia, the Harris Lambrakis Quartet and the Sokratis Sinopoulos Quartet.
It also works with its own band Plasmawine.

O Δημήτρης Τσεκούρας γεννήθηκε στην Αθήνα το 1985. Μεγάλωσε σε καλλιτεχνικό περιβάλλον, μιας και ο πατέρας του είναι πιανίστας και η μητέρα του καθηγήτρια σύγχρονου χορού. Έκανε μαθήματα πιάνου και βιολιού και άρχισε να παίζει μπάσο, ντραμς και κιθάρα. Σπούδασε κλασικό κοντραμπάσο στο Ωδείο Αθηνών με τον Τάσο Κάζαγλη και φωτογραφία στο ΤΕΙ Αθήνας.
Έχει συμμετάσχει σε πολλές συναυλίες και ηχογραφήσεις στην Ελλάδα και στο εξωτερικό. Έχει συνεργαστεί με καλλιτέχνες όπως ο Νίκος Ξυδάκης, η Ελευθερία Αρβανιτάκη, ο Βασίλης Ρακόπουλος και πολλοί ακόμη.
Είναι μέλος των Encardia, του Harris Lambrakis Quartet και του Sokratis Sinopoulos Quartet. Επίσης δουλεύει με το δικό του σχήμα Plasmawine.
