Short Biography
Spyros Rassias was born and raised in Thessaloniki, where he began his musical studies. After completing a cycle of classical studies, both in piano and theory, and after coming into contact with various musical genres of Greek and foreign music, jazz finally won him over.
He studied with a scholaship at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, he completed his undergraduate program with various distinctions as well as important collaborations and festival appearances. He continued with the "Michel Camilo" scholarship from the same university in the Master program, while at the same time he worked at the university as a graduate assistant.
During his studies he shared the stage and apprenticed with jazz legends and contemporary world music in general, such as Victor Wooten, Laszlo Gardony, Perico Sambeat, Diego El Cigala, Abraham Laboriel, Jerry Bergonzi, Joanne Brackeen, Alain Perez, Ray Santisi and Danilo Perez.
He has recorded with many artists in Greece and abroad.

Ο Σπύρος Ρασσιάς γεννήθηκε και μεγάλωσε στη Θεσσαλονίκη, όπου ξεκίνησε και τις μουσικές του σπουδές. Αφού ολοκλήρωσε τον κύκλο κλασικών σπουδών, τόσο στο πιάνο όσο και στα θεωρητικά και αφού ήρθε σε επαφή με διάφορα μουσικά είδη ελληνικής και ξένης μουσικής, τον κέρδισε τελικά η τζαζ.
Ως υπότροφος του Berklee College of Music στη Βοστόνη ολοκλήρωσε το προπτυχιακό πρόγραμμα με διάφορες διακρίσεις αλλά και σημαντικές συνεργασίες και εμφανίσεις σε φεστιβάλ. Συνέχισε με την υποτροφία “Michel Camilo” από το ίδιο πανεπιστήμιο στο πρόγραμμα Master, ενώ ταυτόχρονα εργάστηκε στο πανεπιστήμιο ως graduate assistant.
Κατά τη διάρκεια των σπουδών του έπαιξε επί σκηνής και μαθήτευσε με θρύλους της τζαζ αλλά και γενικότερα της σύγχρονης παγκόσμιας μουσικής, όπως ο Victor Wooten, ο Laszlo Gardony, o Perico Sambeat, o Diego El Cigala, o Αbraham Laboriel, o Jerry Bergonzi, η Joanne Brackeen, ο Alain Perez, ο Ray Santisi και ο Danilo Perez.
