Short Biography
George Tzoukas was born in Kozani. He started piano lessons at the age of 9. He studied piano at the New Conservatory of Thessaloniki, from where he received a Piano Degree in the class of Christine Fressinier and a Diploma in the class of Stella Dimitrova with distinctions, as well as the Degrees of Advanced Theory (harmony, counterpoint, fugue). He attended master-courses with Roberto Szidon, Julia and Constantine Ganev, Dimitris Sgouros, George Hatzinikos.
In parallel with his classical studies, he also dealt with jazz music and composition. His appearances all over Greece and abroad (Mexico, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Turkey, etc.) as a soloist or with ensembles are continuous.
He has also collaborated with many Greek and foreign jazz musicians such as Danny Hayes, Wayne Brasel, David Lynch, Milcho Leviev, Vicky Almasidou and many more.
With Trio Apopsis he has performed in many concerts and festivals inside and outside Greece, including the International Jazz Festival "Euro Jazz" of San Luis Potosi (Mexico 2005) and the Sani Festival (2006).
He has recorded as a session musician in many discographic works of Greek artists. He has composed music for theater, cinema and documentaries.

Ο Γιώργος Τζούκας γεννήθηκε στην Κοζάνη. Άρχισε μαθήματα πιάνου σε ηλικία 9 ετών. Σπούδασε πιάνο στο Νέο Ωδείο Θεσσαλονίκης απ' όπου πήρε Πτυχίο Πιάνου στην τάξη της Christine Fressinier και Δίπλωμα στην τάξη της Stella Dimitrova με διακρίσεις, καθώς και τα Πτυχία Ανώτερων Θεωρητικών (Αρμονία, Αντίστιξη, Φούγκα). Παρακολούθησε master-courses με τους Roberto Szidon, Julia και Constantine Ganev, Δημήτρη Σγούρο, Γιώργο Χατζηνίκο.
Παράλληλα με τις κλασικές σπουδές ασχολήθηκε και με την τζαζ μουσική και τη σύνθεση. Οι εμφανίσεις του πανελλαδικά αλλά και στο εξωτερικό (Μεξικό, Ολλανδία, Βέλγιο, Γερμανία, Τουρκία κλπ.) σαν σολίστ ή με μουσικά σύνολα είναι συνεχείς.
Στον χώρο της τζαζ έχει συνεργαστεί με πολλούς Έλληνες και ξένους μουσικούς όπως Danny Hayes, Wayne Brasel, David Lynch, Milcho Leviev, Vicky Almasidou και πολλούς ακόμη.
