He was born in Kozani in 1972. His interest in music began at the age of seven and at fourteen he started studying classical percussion. By the time he was twenty he was working with some of the best known orchestras in Greece. When he heard pianist George Cables with the group of Billy Cobham he decided that he wanted to be a jazz musician.
Upon receiving a scholarship to the Berklee College of Music, he moved to Boston, where he completed his Bachelor of Arts degree, studying with Ed Saindon. Then he moved to New York City to study with acclaimed jazz vibraphonist Joe Locke at the Manhattan School of Music. Finishing his Master’s Degree, he began to play with such notable musicians as Ravi Coltrane, Antonio Sanchez, Donny McCaslin, Hector Martignon and Ron Affif.
He established Manhattan Vibes, which reveals his strong affinity for Latin and other world music and his debut CD “Manhattan Vibes”,that featured Randy Brecker, was released in 2002.
His duo recording “Dark Sand” with Sergio Salvatore was released in 2007, sparking performances at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center and various cities throughout the US and Europe.
Among the artists he has also collaborated with are Joe Locke, the Charles Mingus “Epitaph” Band, the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra and Wynton Marsalis and Mimis Plessas.

Γεννήθηκε στην Κοζάνη το 1972. Άρχισε να ενδιαφέρεται για τη μουσική από επτά ετών και στα δεκατέσσερα ξεκίνησε να μελετά κλασικά κρουστά. Φτάνοντας τα είκοσι δούλευε πια με μερικές από τις πιο γνωστές ελληνικές ορχήστρες. Όταν άκουσε τον πιανίστα George Cables με το γκρουπ του Billy Cobham αποφάσισε ότι ήθελε να γίνει τζαζ μουσικός.
Παίρνοντας υποτροφία για το Berklee College of Music, μετακινήθηκε στη Βοστόνη όπου πήρε πτυχίο Bachelor of Arts και μελέτησε με δασκάλο τον Ed Saindon. Στη συνέχεια εγκαταστάθηκε στη Νέα Υόρκη για να μελετήσει δίπλα στον σπουδαίο βιμπραφωνίστα Joe Locke στο Manhattan School of Music. Αφού πήρε μάστερ άρχισε να παίζει με σπουδαίους μουσικούς όπως ο Ravi Coltrane, ο Antonio Sanchez, ο Donny McCaslin, ο Hector Martignon και ο Ron Affif.
Σχημάτισε το Manhattan Vibes, ένα πρότζεκτ που δείχνει το μεγάλο του ενδιαφέρον για το λάτιν και άλλες μουσικές του κόσμου και το πρώτο του CD “Manhattan Vibes”, που φιλοξενούσε τον Randy Brecker, κυκλοφόρησε το 2002.
Το ντούο άλμπουμ του με τον Sergio Salvatore “Dark Sand” κυκλοφόρησε το 2007, οδηγώντας τον σε εμφανίσεις στο Carnegie Hall, το Lincoln Center και διάφορες πόλεις στην Αμερική και την Ευρώπη.
Μεταξύ των καλλιτεχνών με τους οποίους έχει συνεργαστεί είναι ο Joe Locke, η Charles Mingus “Epitaph” Band, η Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra με τον Wynton Marsalis και ο Mimis Plessas.
