Short Biography
The band Iskra was formed in Athens in 1984 by Yiorgos Fakanas, David Lynch and Takis Farazis. With the addition of Takis Barberis and Leonidas Pliatsikas they recorded the album "A New Day", which was released in 1986.
They performed in Greece and abroad and they spread the word of improvised music in Greece. With Nikos Touliatos on the drums, they released another album, entitled "Parastasis", in 1988.
Each member of the band continued with a remarkable personal career.

Οι Iskra σχηματίστηκαν στην Αθήνα το 1984 από τον Γιώργο Φακανά, τον David Lynch και τον Τάκη Φαραζή. Με την προσθήκη του Τάκη Μπαρμπέρη και του Λεωνίδα Πλιάτσικα ηχογράφησαν το πρώτο τους άλμπουμ "A New Day", που κυκλοφόρησε το 1986.
Έκαναν πολλές εμφανίσεις στην Ελλάδα και το εξωτερικό και συνέβαλαν σημαντικά στην προώθηση της αυτοσχεδιαζόμενης μουσικής στα μουσικά πράγματα της χώρας.
Με τον Νίκο Τουλιάτο στα ντραμς κυκλοφόρησαν ένα ακόμη άλμπουμ, το "Parastasis", το 1988. Όλα τα μέλη του γκρουπ ακολούθησαν σπουδαίες προσωπικές καριέρες.
