Short Biography
Filippos Pappas started piano lessons with Yiannis Terezakis and at the age of 22 he continued with the saxophone under Manthos Halkias at Kostas Klavvas conservatory. In 1994 he travelled to the USA in order to study at the New School in New York. In 2006 he graduated the Spyros Mazis conservatory with a classical saxophone diploma.
He became the first tenor saxophone of the ERT orchestra. He is a founding member of Brothers From Another Mother, a band formed by drummer Spyros Panagiotopoulos. The band's debut album, entitled "Happy Hour" was released in 2021, including some of Philippos Pappas' compositions.

Ο Φίλιππος Παππάς ξεκίνησε μαθήματα πιάνου με τον Γιάννη Τερεζάκη και στα 22 του συνέχισε με σαξόφωνο, έχοντας δάσκαλο τον Μάνθο Χαλκιά στο ωδείο του Κώστα Κλάββα. Το 1994 πήγε στην Αμερική για σπουδές τζαζ στο New School της Νέας Υόρκης. Το 2006 απέκτησε πτυχίο κλασικού σαξοφώνου από το ωδείο του Σπύρου Μάζη.
Συνεργάστηκε με την κρατική ορχήστρα της ΕΡΤ ως πρώτο τενόρο σαξόφωνο. Είναι ιδρυτικό μέλος του σχήματος Brothers From Another Mother που δημιούργησε ο ντράμερ Σπύρος Παναγιωτόπουλος και με το οποίο κυκλοφόρησε το άλμπουμ "Happy Hour" το 2021, περιλαμβάνοντας και δικές του συνθέσεις.
