Human Touch

He was born in Nicosia, Cyprus in 1966. He studied classical piano and music theory in Cyprus and continued his studies at Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he graduated in 1990 with a bachelor of music degree in arranging. He also received the Count Basie Jazz Masters Award for pianists in 1989 and the Quincy Jones Jazz Masters Award for arrangers in 1990. After Berklee, he continued his jazz piano studies with highly respected educator Charlie Banacos.
Relocating to Greece he started to perform with some of the country’s most acclaimed artists.
He is a founding member of Human Touch (he is the pianist and also the drummer), one of the longest standing Greek groups, that is round up by the saxophone and flute player David Lynch and the bassist Yiotis Kiourtsoglou. Human Touch released their homonymous debut album in 1998.
Lantsias released "Epistrofi", his first album as a leader, in 1999.

Ο Σταύρος Λάντσιας γεννήθηκε στη Λευκωσία το 1966. Μελέτησε πιάνο και θεωρία στην Κύπρο και συνέχισε τις σπουδές του στο Berklee College of Music στη Βοστώνη (ΗΠΑ) απ’ όπου αποφοίτησε το 1990 με πτυχίο στην ενορχήστρωση. Επίσης το 1989 πήρε το βραβείο Count Basie Jazz Masters Award for pianists και το Quincy Jones Jazz Masters Award for arrangers το 1990.
Μετά το Berklee συνέχισε τις σπουδές του στο πιάνο με τον διάσημο δάσκαλο Charlie Banacos.
Στη συνέχεια εγκαταστάθηκε στην Ελλάδα και άρχισε να συνεργάζεται με μερικούς από τους πιο αξιόλογους καλλιτέχνες της χώρας.
Είναι ιδρυτικό μέλος των Human Touch (παίζοντας πιάνο και ντραμς), ενός από τα παλιότερα ελληνικά συγκροτήματα, που συμπληρώνεται από τον σαξοφωνίστα και φλαουτίστα David Lynch και τον μπασίστα Yiotis Kiourtsoglou. Το πρώτο και ομώνυμο άλμπουμ του γκρουπ κυκλοφόρησε το 1998.
Το πρώτο προσωπικό άλμπουμ του Λάντσια με τίτλο "Επιστροφή", κυκλοφόρησε το 1999.
