Short Biography
Jazz guitarist Priamos Morakis, son of the composer Takis Morakis and the singer Nandia Konstantopoulou, started participating in recordings from his school years (with the albums "Amilla '81" and "Amilla '82" of the Ziridis Education).
He has studied jazz guitar, composotion and orchestration in the USA, at the Chicago Musical College of Roosevelt University, Chicago, Illinois.
Returning back to Greece, he became one of the most active members of the Athenean jazz scene and he created his own band, the Priamos Morakis Quintet.
With the quintet, he released his first album "The Athenian Project", transforming soft pop songs, mostly of his father, to jazz compositions.
He has studied jazz guitar, composotion and orchestration in the USA, at the Chicago Musical College of Roosevelt University, Chicago, Illinois.
Returning back to Greece, he became one of the most active members of the Athenean jazz scene and he created his own band, the Priamos Morakis Quintet.

Ο τζαζ κιθαρίστας Πρίαμος Μωράκης, γιος του Τάκη Μωράκη και της Νάντιας Κωνσταντοπούλου, ξεκίνησε να δισκογραφεί όταν ήταν ακόμα μαθητής (στους δίσκους «Άμιλλα ’81» και «Άμιλλα ’82» των Εκπαιδευτηρίων Γ. Ζηρίδη).
Έχει κάνει σημαντικές σπουδές στην Αμερική σε τζαζ κιθάρα, σύνθεση και ενορχήστρωση στο Chicago Musical College of Roosevelt University, Chicago, Illinois.
Με την επιστροφή του στην Ελλάδα, υπήρξε βασικό στέλεχος της αθηναϊκής τζαζ σκηνής και δημιούργησε το Priamos Morakis Quintet. Με το κουιντέτο, κυκλοφόρησε το πρώτο του άλμπουμ "The Athenian Project", μετατρέποντας παλαιά ελαφριά τραγούδια, κυρίως του πατέρα του, σε κομμάτια τζαζ.
