Short Biography
Alexios Antonopoulos was raised up in Germany, where he started piano lessons. He relocated in Greece and started playing the drums at the age of 14, under the guidance of Makis Siatras.
He graduated the department of German language at the Athens University and he studied drums at the Μodern Μusic School with Nikos Sidirokastritis. Then he studied jazz improvisation, piano and jazz theory at the Αthenaeum conservatory. Among his teachers were Sylvios Syrros, Yiorgos Mikros and Manos Theodosakis. He also studied traditional percussion with Vagelis Karipis.
He started playing professionally at the age of 17 and has collaborated with many artists.
He is a founding member of the band Stratum3 with which he released the album "Pathfinder" in 2018.

Ο Αλέξιος Αντωνόπουλος πέρασε τα παιδικά του χρόνια στη Γερμανία, όπου και ξεκίνησε μαθήματα πιάνου. Επέστρεψε στην Ελλάδα και σε ηλικία 14 ετών άρχισε να παίζει τύμπανα με δάσκαλο τον Μάκη Σιάτρα.
Μετά την ολοκλήρωση των σπουδών του στο Εθνικό και Καποδιστριακό Πανεπιστήμιο Αθηνών (Tμήμα Γερμανικής Φιλολογίας), μαθήτευσε στο Μodern Μusic School της Αθήνας πλάι στον Νίκο Σιδηροκαστρίτη και στη συνέχεια σπούδασε jazz αυτοσχεδιασμό, πιάνο, αρμονία jazz στο ωδείο Αthenaeum με καθηγητές τον Συλβιο Σύρρο, τον Γιώργο Μικρό, τον Μάνο Θεοδοσάκη κ.ά. Για ένα μικρό διάστημα παρακολούθησε μαθήματα παραδοσιακών κρουστών με τον Βαγγέλη Καρίπη.
Ξεκίνησε να παίζει επαγγελματικά από τα 17 του με πολλές συνεργασίες στο ενεργητικό του και είναι ιδρυτικό μέλος των Stratum3 με τους οποίους κυκλοφόρησαν το 2018 το άλμπουμ "Pathfinder".
