Short Biography
Stavros Manthos was born in 1990 and raised in Xylokastro, Korinthia. Since a very young age, he started experimenting with various wind instuments until he ended up playing alto saxophone at the age of 18. During his studies as a Civil Engineer in Patras, he continued his studies in improvisational music with Dimitris Tsakas at the Dihxo Music School.
Returning to Xylokastro he started working as a math teacher and also as a music teacher, at the Musci For- Korinthos school. At the same time he participates in the Greek jazz scene with live appearances and concerts.
Stavros Manthos has formed the Stavros Manthos Quartet along with the musicians Erik Panagopoulos (guitar), Alexis Delis (bass) and Panagiotis Kostopoulos (drums). The quartet released their first album "Colors in Motion" with Stavros' original compositions in 2020.
Returning to Xylokastro he started working as a math teacher and also as a music teacher, at the Musci For- Korinthos school. At the same time he participates in the Greek jazz scene with live appearances and concerts.

O Σταύρος Μάνθος γεννήθηκε το 1990 και μεγάλωσε στο Ξυλόκαστρο Κορινθίας. Από νεαρή ηλικία, ήρθε σε επαφή με διάφορα πνευστά μουσικά όργανα μέχρι να καταλήξει στα 18 του στο άλτο σαξόφωνο. Στη διάρκεια των σπουδών του ως Πολιτικός Μηχανικός στην Πάτρα, συνέχισε την μελέτη και την ενασχόληση με την μουσική τζαζ, παρακολουθώντας μαθήματα με τον Δημήτρη Τσάκα στη Μουσική Σχολή Δίηχο.
Επιστρέφοντας στο Ξυλόκαστρο, άρχισε να εργάζεται ως καθηγητής μαθηματικών και μουσικής, στο Music for Korinthos. Παράλληλα συμμετέχει ενεργά στην ελληνική τζαζ σκηνή με συναυλίες και ζωντανές εμφανίσεις.
Ο Σταύρος Μάνθος έχει σχηματίσει το Stavros Manthos Quartet με τους μουσικούς: Έρικ Παναγόπουλο (κιθάρα), Αλέξη Δελή (μπάσο) και Παναγιώτη Κωστόπουλο (ντραμς). To κουαρτέτο κυκλοφόρησε το πρώτο του άλμπουμ "Colors in Motion" με προσωπικές του συνθέσεις, το 2020.
